Spam? What spam? Need help? © by Dagmar Rakos ConOpMark.com
Fact #1:
Few weeks back my email spam suddenly shut up significantly to one of my email addresses as some “good character” (let him fry in flames of hell for as many centuries as many spams he sent!) put it into yahoo carousel of spam lists. Pardon me – supposedly “Opt-in Safe lists” I never heard of. (A side note: I haven’t used this particular address for any subscriptions for at least past 3 years, so No, I couldn’t forget.)
Fact #2:
Using my Delete button took forever as I had to go carefully through all my email postings sorting them one by one in order to determine what is spam and what is not.
Fact #3.
I finally kicked myself to download and install Mailwasher email antispam software on my main computer, started using it diligently, and voila: my spam decreased in a matter of days from literally hundreds/day to a few/day!
Fact #4.
Mailwasher email preview program saves me an incredible amount of time. Almost all of the spam I preview is already pre-marked as a spam (reported for sure by some busy bees of Internet world who obviously have nothing else to do in their lives but reporting spams – God bless your little souls taking this workload from me! ;-) ), not to mention color coded so I can glance very quickly over them, just to make sure no innocent victims are included in my false bounce messages if some rabid anti-spammer reported my favorite ezine I Know for sure Never spams. (You would be surprised how many even respectable ezines I see pre-marked)
And then I just hit Process mail button and here we go: spammers mail gets bounced back and also put into my own personal blackmail list so I won’t see their mail ever again – and the rest goes to my regular mail accounts for me to deal with. Very fast, simple and effective!
Fact #5:
And yes, I do agree that some spammers just change ISP or email addresses, so what? By the time I preview it in my Mailwasher it has been either pre-marked as a spam again, as I let Mailwasher to compare my mail against few anti-spam black lists, or I’ll mark it, hit the button and will never see any email from that particular address ever again. No daily repeats like before.
Fact #6:
BUT: have you ever thought of that it also costs spammers to do this mass mailings and consequences of it? It costs Them Money too. And Time. And since supposedly “nobody” is reading the spam, their ROI should be not even zero, but minus, if we take into consideration all their expenses. So how come there still Is a spam on the Net if everybody around claims it is not profitable? Spammers supposedly don’t make any money. Or: Do they…?
Fact #7:
Well, if the spammers are actually losing money but spam nevertheless still exist, even it’s increasing, this brings me only to one conclusion: if majority of spammers are naïve newbies it demonstrates to me that indeed there are constantly more and more people coming to the Net, which expands also my market potential, which isn’t bad after all, is it…?
Therefore: Spam? What spam?
Have fun!
