Tip: How to spam-proof your email, and make sure your newsletter will pass the spam filters. © by Dagmar Rakos ConOpMark.com
For those of you ezine publishers - or Anybody using email as a means of communication - fighting that joke of the program called SpamAssassin, here is a nice FREE little tool to help you: SpamCheck!
With this unique-to-the-Net tool from Site Sell folks, you'll never have to worry about Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail or any large ISP mistaking your e-mail for spam. It will tell you exactly what to do to improve your e-mail before you send it out so it doesn’t end in someone's "Junk" folder - be it Your Newsletter, Signature or Private mail.
What does SpamCheck do? It checks your email for the infamous SpamAssassin filtering “software”, creating a report on it’s score so you can fix your email according to that. Just send your email/ezine to the specially formatted autoresponder, and receive SpamAssassin’s report back in seconds, minutes if the volume is heavy. Then you change your email to keep the score under 5.
An IMPORTANT NOTE: When you send your email you MUST include the word TEST (yes, in capitals) as the first word in your Subject line = in front of Your own actual subject line, otherwise it will be treated as spam and deleted.
To check any of your emails for “spamminess” just send your email to: spamcheck-start@sitesell.net (with the word TEST as your first word of the subject line!) - and you will get a full SpamCheck report in seconds.
Just keep this email address handy for future checks.
